15th International Business Informatics Congress

Welcome to the WI2020 in Potsdam

The current developments, opportunities and challenges of digitalisation will be presented and discussed at the annual conference of business informatics from 9-11th March 2020 in Potsdam.
The International Business Informatics Congress gives scientists, practitioners and junior staff the opportunity to inform themselves about current research results. It offers a forum for the exchange between science and practice and tries to generate solutions for the digital transformation. Following the motto of "Changing Landscapes - Shaping Digital Transformation and its Impact" an extensive program provides impulses for the further development of digital technologies and their impact on individuals, organizations and society. The scientific program is complemented by various formats in which the topic is dealt with in a practice-oriented way. Young professionals will be able to find contacts and orientation for their future careers.

Conference Formats

A broad spectrum of formats offers a varied overview of the diverse thematic landscape of digital transformation.

Keynotes and Panels

Top-class speakers from science, industry and politics give impulses for the further development of business informatics. They point the way that can be taken in the digital transformation and which hurdles we could encounter on this path. At the panels, relevant scientists and practitioners will discuss future developments in research, teaching and practice.

Tracks and Workshops

Current developments and research work are presented in 18 centrally organised scientific tracks. The topics address the entire spectrum of human, organisational and technical fields. The central tracks are supplemented by a program of research tracks organized by the community as well as hands-on workshops on current topics in business informatics.

CIO Symposium

Digital transformation is a management issue in companies. Through the integration of CIOs into the congress program, synergies are generated. Practitioners receive a forum for mutual exchange, they can pick up new impulses from research. Scientists gain insight into the transformations in the companies and can thus conduct research with practical relevance.

Demonstrators and Prototypes

Business informatics thrives on the implementation of concrete technologies. The design oriented character of the discipline is emphasized by formats for the presentation of demonstrators and prototypes. This is the bridge between technological development and current research topics. The formats also offer a platform for future product developments from science.

Doctoral Consortium

Young scientists are coached by renowned mentors in the Doctoral Consortium. Doctoral students receive new impulses for their work and feedback on already carried out research through intensive mutual exchange.

Student Track

The first steps in science can already be taken in student work. The Student Track offers a forum and appreciation for these achievements. Selected contributions will be discussed in front of other students and published in the proceedings after the conference.
